Former BLIND GUARDIAN Drummer Joins SEELENZORN
October 1, 2008Former BLIND GUARDIAN/SAVAGE CIRCUS drummer Thomas "Thomen" Stauch has issued the following udapte:
"Proudly I'd like to inform you that I'm the new drummer of the German industrial/gothic/rock band SEELENZORN. Their previous drummer has left the band, because of several unknown circumstances in his family.
"We've paid attention to each other for the first time on the Internet community MySpace in March this year. From only interest in the music of each other, meanwhile a big friendship with each member has developed. Without long consideration, I decided to support the band as a substitute drummer for the time being, after their previous drummer had announced, suddenly and at short notice, that he will leave the band.
"The first common concert we played on September 19 in Aalen (near Stuttgart). After the show it was for the band as sure as for me that, we further want to work together, so I immediately became a firm SEELENZORN member.
"I have composed even the first few song ideas for SEELENZORN already, which my new band colleagues like a lot. Therefore we have decided together that I become not only their new drummer, but, in addition, will involve myself also in the song-writing process for the next album.
"Furthermore I am working highly concentrated on the songs for the second album of my modern metal band COLDSEED at the moment, and for the debut album of my still nameless, new power metal band with David DeFeis (vocals, VIRGIN STEELE) and Axel Ritt (guitar, DOMAIN).
"As you can see, I was and remain always a metal-focused musician, but because I always belonged to the musicians who look with pleasure also sometimes to the left and to the right of the metal scene, I am glad to have noticed that with SEELENZORN I will also develop my abilities in writing songs and hitting the drums, just in a little bit 'different way,' stylistically seen.
"Herewith I would also like to thank my new colleagues for their warm-hearted welcome in the band and we all are very curious already about the next concerts and our new common compositions. We had already more than enough fun together up to now, in any case, and this is for me an important criterion for a reasonable atmosphere and collaboration within a band. I would never again like to miss this friendship anyway."
